—I thought it was excellent. I saw a couple of people talking about the length, but in my mind it just helped to develop the characters more. I think it was really well separated into three books.

—My favorite character was Larry Underwood, then Stu Redman, and then probably Nick, Fran and Glen (Tom Cullen and Kojack were pretty awesome too). Although they were my favorites I really enjoyed all the characters.

—Harold was an interesting character. He’s really unlikable, but there are so many suspenseful instances where you want him to do the right thing because he’s showing glimpses of humanity and he does the opposite.

—The ending was gut wrenching. I had an idea that there was going to be an explosion (from kings interviews), but I figured it was the first explosion that Harold and Nadine had contrived. It was really hard to read through Glen, Ralph, and Larry’s deaths. It was an extremely emotional book.

    — I thought the references to his other works were really interesting. I’m at book 4.5 in the Dark Tower series and I know Eddie mentioned Captain Trips, so I’m curious to see how the universes tie together. But it was cool to see king talk about Ka and the Shine in a couple of instances in this book as well.

    — One final note, there was one specific quote from the book where Larry’s character was talking about changing that I just thought was astounding, it said: “No one can chart that blue and lonely section of hell. There are no maps of the change. You just…come out the other side.” Has to be one of the most truthful lines I’ve read in a book. I usually don’t read books more than once, but this is one I’m sure I’ll return to.
