Hello! I am looking for books that my 8 year old sister would enjoy. Ideally some of them could also be enjoyable for adults, because we like to do family read alouds. The problem is she is EXTREMELY fearful, afraid even of stories that others would consider very tame (for example The Magic Tree House series. As a non-book example, she is afraid of most Disney movies.) She adores the Ramona Quimby and Henry Huggins books and regularly rereads them, and she also loves the According to Humphrey series by Betty G. Birney.
Any suggestions?
I am struggling to think of books for her (the only possibility that came to mind was The Wind in the Willows, and even that with the caveat that she might want to skip a few sections.)
