Just saw Longlegs last night, and I really really liked the first half of the movie.
As spoiler-free as possible, the film is about a clairvoyant FBI agent who, after correctly guessing the location of a suspect during a manhunt, is assigned to a thirty-year cold case involving a series of unexplained family killings in which the killer left a letter behind despite ZERO physical evidence that he was ever inside the houses.
The film did not go where I expected nor wanted it to go. I was not a big fan of the second half of the movie, and yet I can’t get my mind of the first half. It was set up so well.
Any book recommendations with a similar premise? Or any series involving a female detective with a similar vibe or mystery about her?

I unfortunately don’t have any book recs off the top of my head but if you haven’t watched *The X Files* it’s a show with a very similar vibe.
There is an under-recommended series of books called the miriam black series, and the first one is “blackbirds”
This is about a young woman whom trouble seems to follow her all around and there is something very off about her. I have only read the first and second book but this book has a very creepy vibe throughout, and weird things happen and she solves them.
I don’t keep a lot of books here, I only have one bookcase, and I have kept this series. That’s so much I liked it. I hope that you like it too.
The writing is unique because it is very “devil May care”, and unapologetic.
