I’ve recently read The Terror by Dan Simmons and The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton.
I REALLY enjoyed The Terror, and liked The Luminaries well enough but the setting was way better than the plot imo.
Both take place in the mid-1800s and are mysteries with a few fantasy elements. I love fantasy and historical fiction, and I feel like I’m on a 19th century streak.
Any good recs? I love scary stuff and a bit of romance as well. I feel like I’m already immersed in the 1800s and I need more!
Both TT and TL are long and I would prefer shorter books, but I’m willing to read anything. TIA!
