Hey everyone! First time posting on this subreddit after browsing a bunch on it. I wanted suggestions for books based on my reading history. After not reading a full novel for almost 10+ years, I slowly started reading more last year (6 books which was a huge improvement for me).

The hardest part is choosing what to read next. Here are the books I read and my thoughts on them and would love suggestions based on this:

    1. Nightingale by Kristin Hannah – I loved this book, one of the first WWII books I read and appreciated the characters.
    2. The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah – This book was decent but a bit boring. It was my second Kristin Hannah book.
    3. The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah – Liked this book a lot, 2nd in my list of Hannah novels mainly because I really appreciated the relationship development between mom and daughter.
    4. Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin – Probably my favorite book this year. Finished it in 2 days, could not put it down. The characters were so well done, and the storytelling was something I loved. Slowly revealing more and more about the past as the book moved on.
    5. Moth by Melody Razak – Appreciated reading about the impact of the partition and especially the impact on women.
    6. All the Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doerr – Read a while back but I remember liking this novel.
    7. Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin – Took a while to read but man was it incredible. So well researched and the detail was great for someone with no knowledge of American history.
    8. A Gentlemen in Moscow by Amor Towles – Loved it, felt like I was in the hotel!
    9. The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn – Meh. I got tired of WWII novels.
    10. The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles – Absolutely love this author. The characters are just so well developed.

I would recommend Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante, and Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. If you want a really engrossing historical non-fiction read, one of my favorites is Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe.

    2. The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See.

Four Treasures of the Sky by Jenny Tinghui Zhang.
