If you want a great series to read, I highly recommend this. I don't actually like books that are a series, I get bored by the 3rd one, it's just more of the same. Not this. I read the first book and thought "not bad, kinda typical, like a template, I liked it but won't read the rest of the books." A year or so later I read the 2nd book, and it was good enough to give the 3rd book a try. They get better and better as they go. I love the characters, I love the places (the bar, the video rental place, the donut shop), the dialogue, it's funny, violent, cool, sad, beautiful. I read all 13 and wow, what an epic ride. The characters are kinda deep, interesting, the story is so well told, taken as a whole it's just a beautiful sad awesome story. If you've never heard of it, give it a shot, and if you've ever been on the fence about it, jump that fence. I think it's the best thing Kadrey has written (The Everything Box is tied for the best thing he's written).
