Book where tha main character is amoral, sociopathic, sophisticated, charming and charismatic, using whatever means to climb social ladders and get what he wants.
Really just looking for a book where the character cares only about himself, is out only for himself and goes very hard after success.
If you’re okay with Fantasy check out Empire of Thorns which is basically that.

{{Vicious by V.E. Schwab}}; although the the MCs aren’t trying to “climb the social ladder”, but everything else fits.

American Psycho. The only thing is I wouldn’t say the main character is after success necessarily or doing things strategically to advance themselves, but as far as a book where the main character is amoral, sociopathic, etc, for sure.

Doesn’t start that way, but The Count of Monte Cristo fits the bill.
