Enjoyed it as much if not more than Shogun. Looking for something else that is in a similar vein. Not looking to continue on to Noble House as I'm not wanting anything set in the modern age. I really love character driven historical fiction with Colleen McCullough's Masters of Rome series being one of my favorite. Besides the first three from the Asian Saga and Musashi, I have not read much Asian historical fiction, so that may be something I'd like to continue reading. Also interested in the Age of Sail period and any European history that takes place after the Norman invasion of England.
If the author backed their story with academic sources then all the better.
