My partner told me he's never really read many fiction books, as he's just never really tried, but would be open to it. The only fiction book he's read that he really loved was The Old Man and the Sea. He said he read a few Hemingway books and enjoyed them a lot.
However, he honestly doesn't know where to start or who to read next, when it comes to fictional books. When he watches fictional movies, he often prefers war movies, historical movies, mafia/yakuza movies, etc. He enjoys movies like All Quiet On The Western Front, The Godfather, A Family, Seven Years In Tibet, etc. I'm thinking maybe some sort of historical fiction, action/fighting based book, etc – or maybe fiction books with similar themes, concepts, writing styles to The Old Man and the Sea.
If anyone has any recommendations – we would appreciate it so much! Normally he reads non-fiction (as do I), his favourite books are 48 Laws of Power, Meditations, and The Art of War; if that helps at all.
