As the title says. I have a preference for Japanese, Hong Kong, Singapore Heist or noir. As I type I realize that a Vietnamese novel would also be interesting. Any outside of mainland China would be useful.
For further specificity what I need is not a book originally written outside the region by an outside writer. I want a translation from Cantonese, Japanese, Malay, Vietnamese et cetera. Though if the book is written in English by a local I have no qualms.
Heist story. Finding a crew, planning, execution, outside interference. The typical. Sub genre does not matter. If it takes place in a cyberpunk world, for example, then that is a welcome bonus.
Another modifier is that I prefer it have been written or set in the 1980's.
