I’m like ~15% into this book. Is it just me or are both Nick and Amy just fucking sociopaths? The pick-me energy is out of control. If someone wrote this book this year 2024, this would be satire about miserable shitty people who don’t know how to make friends. Like they just called someone a drama queen for crying because their neighbor is missing and possibly dead. What the fuck. They shit on their friends for fighting, they shit on the in-laws for never fighting…
Does it change? Because if not, I’m gonna DNF. The writing is fine, I like it even, but the vibes are horrendous and I hate these characters. Thoughts?
