Hello! Looking for some suggestions. I want to write a short story about a celebrity who is hiding from the public eye, and was thinking about reading some memoirs written by people who go into detail of what life is like for someone very famous. Doesn’t matter which industry but preferably entertainment (TV/movie/music/sports/etc)

I’ve read I’m Glad My Mom Died and loved it! But that’s really the only celeb memoir I have read fully. Any suggestions?

    1. Carrie Fisher wrote several books about her own life, although Wishful Drinking and Shockaholic are (I think) the only ones specifically listed as memoirs.

Neither of the above authors is a mega-star like Tom Cruise, but they are definitely known and their stories are thoughtful and engaging.

President Obamas newest book is fabulous and he’s arguably probably one of the most famous people in the world. If you are looking for the 3rd person feel because you’re writing it about someone else Too Much and Never Enough is a great book by Mary Trump. If you want a before fame angle the 5 Vital by Mike Majlik (I think I spelled his last name correctly) is a good read especially if you would also like to understand addiction. He’s not as famous as the other two but YouTube famous counts right?
