The main character just has the get their power through wearing the mask doesn’t matter if they just get powers or they get possesed by an entity while wearing the mask
It’s even better if the MC’s personally changes when they are wearing the mask

I think you need to get to the end of the second book before it shows up, but the main character of the Traveler’s Gate Trilogy Simon, gets a mask that increases his power at the risk of becoming a monster. The first book of the series is House of Blades.
This both fulfills and subverts your request, but “Masquerade” is Terry Pratchett involves masks that change your personality. It’s Pratchett’s take on Phantom of the Opera, with witches and split personalities.
If you don’t mind a kid’s book, The Haunted Mask in the Goosebumps series fits. The girl doesn’t get power exactly, but her personality does change.
