Basically my ideal would be a homesteader guy or family just carving out their niche in the wilderness. Hunting, fishing, farming, building, some romance thrown in would also be good. A fantasy setting is 100% acceptable if it meets the other criteria.

It’s one of the only books I’ve ever read to focus so much on beautiful friendships and the everyday parts of life in a medieval fantasy setting. However, there are stakes.
