I just finished Tall Oaks by Chris Whitaker and absolutely loved it. The diverse characters that were fully fleshed out and the witty dialogue had me hooked from the very beginning. I’m looking for books, not necessarily similar in story line, but books that had you in awe of the authors ability to develop characters that felt like real people, with personalities that go deeper than just brushing the surface of who they are. I already have Whitaker’s other books added to my TBR pile, so if anyone has any other recs I’d really appreciate it!
