I enjoy stories about doomed or difficult voyages/journeys, I also really enjoyed David Grann's The Wager. Doesn't have to be maritime related at all because I also read The Hunger and The Indifferent Stars Above this year which were both about the Donner party. I don't mind if it's fiction, a fictionalised narrative of a real event, or non-fiction.
I didn't make much headway with The Terror as a book because I was personally uncomfortable with its descriptions of women and girls, so I'm looking to find another book as I still want to read something similar.

Michael Palin wrote a very well written and engaging account of the Erebus expedition, if that counts.
