I’ve never read any fantasy novels, nor do I know any good authors in this genre. I would love recommendations for a fantasy series that I can really get my teeth into. What are your recommendations?
If you want an easy fantasy series that’s a lot of fun I’d recommend the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire. The first book is Rosemary and Rue. It’s urban fantasy though. If you only want high fantasy I’d start with Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson or Theft of Swords by Michael J Sullivan.

Storm light archives for a more traditional high fantasy
I also really liked the Poppy War series

Series by Brandon Sanderson, Patrick Rothfuss, Robin Hobb, John Gwynne, Jim Butcher are some of the best fantasy experiences out there but if you want to start smaller with more easy to finish novels, the T Kingfisher has amazing standalone fantasy books and Samantha Shannon also writes some gorgeous novels.

The Book of the New Sun series by Gene Wolf

The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien is the original epic fantasy. But I’d also recommend you to check out The Riftwar Cycle by Feist and The Inheritance Cycle by Paolini.
