Historical fiction or western about young people

I'm looking for a historical ficition or western book, mainly about people in their 20. It should be quite long (about 1000 pages) and suck me in.

There should be a mix of action, drama and romance.

I loved Pillars of the Earth and Atlas Shrugged.
