I've been wanting to get into classical literature (Shakespeare, doestovesky, etc.) and want a few suggestions on what I should start with. I know I should start with easier titles instead of diving into harder authors like the aforementioned Doestovesky.

Right now I think I should start with Frankenstein as it isn't super challenging (so I've been told) and the premise is interesting to me. Any other suggestions? And what publisher should I buy from? (With the best cost to quality ratio)

For some shorter starters I would recommend Of Mice and Men and The Old Man and the Sea.

Dostoevsky’s “Crime and Punishment” it’s a surprisingly easy read. It’s his best selling book worldwide and, in my opinion, is better than “The Karamazov brothers”.

      Other classics I suggest:

“Never let me go” and “Klara and the sun” by Kazuo Ishiguro, Nobel Prize winner.

“Blindness” by José Saramago, also Nobel Prize winner

      “Eugenia Grandet” by Balzac

      “Madame Bovary” by Flaubert

“The tale of Genji” by Murasaki Shikibu, the ultimate japanese classic, which I absolutely LOVED
