I need new reads that enthrall you to the point where you forget what time it is you are so lost in the story, a book that keeps you distracted all day waiting to turn the next page, with characters and stories that make you feel what they feel and smell what they smell. Adventure, romance, fantasy, you name it, I want to hear about it. Tell me the name, author, and a sentence about why it is so special.

Conservation of Shadows by Yoon Ha Lee is one of the best short story collections I’ve had the pleasure of reading. It’s heavy on the sci fi but incorporates themes of language, love, and war.

I will die on this hill but the children’s book series Wings of Fire!
      Written by Tui.T.Sutherland.

It’s a fantasy book series that I have loved and been in the fandom in since 3rd grade, now going into highschool!
The stories in the arcs, the characters and the writing is a huge step up from most books.
The dragon species are so unique for the most part and I love that they are the main characters and not the humans.
You wouldn’t expect this from a kids’ series but it has a LOT of gore and general adult topics (ex: grooming, abuse, ect.)

The only book from the series I don’t like is the last one and that is entirely the ending not the rest of the book.

As a nice side note; the fandom is pretty large with tons of content such a fanfics, animations, multi animator projects, roblox games and commentary videos about certain characters!

Also I heard it got picked back up to be a show moving to a new studio from when netflix dropped it

Mine would be A River Runs Through It by Norman Maclean. When I read the book at a young age g age it was the first time I ever read something I thought perfect. The prose, delivery and imagery are all exceptional with an intriguing story about nature, family, and love. The only book, while quite short, I read every single year.

Sum by David Eagleman. I read it in high school senior year and every time I come back to it, a different vignette sticks with me. it has changed how I view death.
