I'm looking for books that involve first contact with aliens. It could be aliens invade earth or benevolent aliens come to earth. But I want the story to take place on Earth so not looking for a "humans travel to a different planet and meet aliens" story. What's your best pick for this kind of story?

**Footfall** by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle has an ‘Earth gets invaded’ plot. It includes scenes from the aliens’ perspective.
I also enjoyed Carl Sagan’s *Contact* (both the movie and the book).
Forge of God by Greg Bear is about aliens coming to Earth and being absolutely baffling. I feel like the less you know about the book going in the better.
The Themis Files by Sylvain Neuvel but I exclusively rec this on audio because the story is told through interviews and transcriptions and the audio is a full cast. It’s so well done!
