Wasn’t sure how to phrase this request in the title. I have a few books I’ve read that I get sucked in just by the pure magic and eloquence of the words. The “story” itself almost becomes secondary to what seems like the authors connection to perfect construction.
My favorite book is East of Eden and as much as I did enjoy the underlying story itself, I found myself picking it back up again constantly just to experience how Steinbeck constructed a perfect sentence.
Think of a poet that could be describing either a sunset or a used car tire, and in either instance the words make perfect sense.
Have any books struck you in this way?
