For me, it’s ‘The Moominpapa’s memoirs’. The episodes are well-balanced, the illustrations at their best quality, and no elements that make you frown like from the other books simply because they are disquieting to some sensitive minds (I don’t like Snufkin that much for this reason though).
The second best is Moominland Midwinter. Though everyone in the book seemed to hate or deliberately bully the “winter” Hemulen, I felt that character had a deep pathos. I don’t know why.
The least favourite series are the last two books. They were terribly boring to me in those times.
