I've been enjoying classics recently but they get "chewy" sometimes so I'm looking for newer fiction, non-fantasy.
But I'm struggling because modern authorship often tells how the characters feel — even well-written books do this (at least to me). I enjoy how older works build the story implicitly for you to "discover."
I would very much appreciate if anyone can point me at some newer (i.e. not classic) fiction where dialogue and events drive the story, rather than the exposition.
Thank you in advance!
