So, I've recently read Black River Orchard, which I really liked how the story progressed. It reminded me of some King books, where the story starts slow, almost too simplistic, with an everyday, mundane narrative.
But then it slowly gets creepier, or stranger, or the plot twists, and it ends up in unexpected ways. Also, with multiple characters, each one developing in parallel, but all somehow interconnected.
Any other books that have this structure?
I am more into mystery, thrillers, suspense, horror, etc. I don't really like books that take a whole paragraph to describe the beautiful sky. I prefer focus on the plot and characters, as opposed to writing technique.
