I’m a fan of TV shows which show male character development. In other words, in which it is very much about the representation of psyche, train of thought, feelings of (middle aged or elderly) persons, solving conflicts between your own needs and social norms, especially considering family, work, people close to the protagonist. My favorite show is The Sopranos.

And at the same time, I’d like to read more frequently again. Do you have any recommendations? I’m open to Naturalism, uncut, vulgar as it fits.

Reading in English is fine, but my first language is German.

    Thx a lot 🙂

I’m not sure they are what you are after, but on the off chance fantasy elements are okay:

It’s not primarily male adult character development, but the series starting with *Heroine Complex* by Sarah Kuhn is kind of all about the 3 main female characters growing as people individually and within their found family dynamics (with superpowers).

And it’s not really the prime focus, but the main character in the Iron Druid Chronicles (male) does grow significantly as a person by the end of the series. Also magic. Starting with *Hounded* by Kevin Hearne

I’m pretty sure Iron Druid has been translated into German, but I’m not really sure. And I have no idea about Heroine.
