This year I read: Parable of the Sower, Parable of the Talents, The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store, and Demon Copperhead (among others). I am tired of books that make me feel anxious and sad so much! I would love to read a well-written speculative fiction or historical fiction that is on the lighter side and the main characters experience happy endings. Bonus points if it is funny. The only issue is I feel like most of the books this subreddit would suggest, I have already read! Here are books I have read already:

    -Legends and Lattes
-Several Discworld books (Especially enjoyed Mort and Guards Guards)
    -Good Omens
-Murderbot Diaries (Weirdly did not love these!)
    -House in the Cerulean Sea
    -The Humans

The Legends of the Condor Heroes are as hilarious as they are epic. I describe it to people as being like a Jackie Chan action comedy on an epic scale.

[Agatha of Little Neon by Claire Luchette](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/54785502) is a perfect little gem. It has some intense moments, but nothing overwhelming. It’s a relatively happy ending but it’s more the *right* ending. I was blown away by the quality and tempo of the writing and the surprising, but not at all out of character for the book, humor. I love this book and I love recommending it.

If you enjoyed Kingsolver’s writing, you may enjoy one of her “lower stakes” novels like Prodigal Summer.

The Wisteria Society for Lady Scoundrels by India Holton, Small Miracles by Olivia Atwater, & all Becky Chambers (which is recommend a lot, but for good reason)
