I've recently gone trough some huge (but necessary) changes. A divorce, big career change, moving cities, you get it. I keep having moments where it feels temporary, like this is all just a detour until I return to my now-ex and my old city before I remember that that life is gone and I'm never going back to it. So, I'm asking for books with a similar theme, about how sometimes you're not where you thought you'd be a year ago and there's no way to return to what was.

How do you feel about post apocalyptic fiction?
I feel like you want something a bit more real but it does fit.
Its PA but the undead ultra series might work. It has a pretty heavy theme of the FMC working through her husband dying and kid being at college. Plus some other stuff, but spoilers.
The Husbands by Holly Gramazio
Single Lauren comes home after a night out, drunk, to find a strange man in her flat. A man whose picture is suddenly on the home screen of her phone, photos with him and her friends, text conversations with and about him stretching back years. He’s her husband, one she finds out was magically provided by her attic, an attic that will do exchanges but no going backwards. Send a husband up and a new one comes down, along with a different marriage and life she has with him.
Hear me out, it’s not as flippant of a book as some people seem to read it. At its core it deals with a sudden, unchosen change in life, and the questions of what is love and who do we share our most loving relationships with.
