Any genre in fiction is fine. I like when authors aren’t overly concerned with making their audience agree with their character’s actions. I like when characters make you think and aren’t perfect.

But, I hate it when the perspective only stays on the morally grey character. And when the author is very clearly on the side of the antihero and manipulate the narrative to be one sided. I don’t like it when the story is written so there was “no other way”.

Like, dude, it’s okay to make an antihero an antihero you don’t need to defend them. If you want to make an edgy character do murder stuff you can’t have them be the good guy in everyone’s story. And a traumatic backstory isn’t an excuse.

(Not a book or an Antihero, but I love Bojack Horseman. Bojack’s actions do have consequences but he is rarely the one to pay the price for his actions. The writers show how his actions affect those around him.)
