I haven’t read a book in over a year. Having ADHD makes reading way more harder than it should be, and I tend to get frustrated. But there are times (like now) that I crave to read and have no idea where to start. There are so many novels out there and I don’t even know how to sift through them all.

I mainly enjoy reading classical novels and some fantasy. Again because my attention span sucks, I’m not great with a slow burner unless I’m attached to a character! I also don’t appreciate anything driven with sexuality or incest. I also am not usually a fan of young adult fantasy, think Sarah Maas or Leigh Bardugo. I’m a big fan of English, Irish, or Nordic historical fiction as well! I really want to read something full of emotion but leaves me feeling happy and attached, not miserably depressed! I’d love something fantastical, cozy, cottage-y. Something visually driven is also welcome since I am a painter.

Some of my favorites I have read or re-read in the last year:

    1) The Brother’s Dostoevsky (this is always my favorite… not sure how basic of a response that is.) I’ve read most of Dostoevsky and he’s one of my favorites.

    2) As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow (I like that this book was sorrowful but beautiful)

    3) Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow (I got very attached to the characters)

    4) Anna Karenina

    5) Jane Eyre

    6) The Silmarillion (I like Tolkien a lot!)

    Where do I even begin!?
