Many of us have read a book in which the author wants us to empathize with the hero, but prescribes him very poorly, which is why he is annoying.

For example: Emilia from KIngdom of the Wicked. The author wanted us to sympathize with her, but she was too dumb, arrogant and too lucky. I was especially enraged by the moment When Wrath told her to stay in the house, because it was safe, she decided to leave right away, because before that he said, "Decide for yourself." As a result, she was captured by one of the princes of hell. I was ready to yell, "Are you stupid?!".

There too many of these kind characters nowadays, no common sense,no intelligence, complete lack of understanding of situations.

It’s stupidity at its highest level.

You lose all sympathy for them and you don’t care about them.

      ACOTAR comes to mind.

      Fablehaven characters also.
