I’m currently reading A Woman Of No Importance: The Untold Story of the American Spy Who Helped Win World War II. It’s the biography of Virginia Hall. She became the first Allied woman deployed behind enemy lines and–despite her prosthetic leg–helped to light the flame of the French Resistance.
It’s great and creepily relevant right now in America. I’d like more nonfiction books about successful resistance to fascism. I’m also interested in books or articles on how to recognize proto-fascist social trends and any political agendas being pushed. I’m trying to not be the frog that gets boiled alive.

On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder is a great book. It’s a slim volume where he succinctly lays out 20 guiding pillars of recognizing and resisting fascism. He draws on history and the various philosophies, including of obedience vs resistance. Compact, super readable. My own copy is marked up and highlighted, I wholeheartedly recommend it!

You might get some mileage out of *Blackshirts and reds* by Michael Parenti and *The anatomy of fascism* by Robert Paxton.
