Hello everyone. I'm new here and want to thank you for reading this. I'm not a huge reader but looking for something I can read while on the beach next week. Historically I enjoy sports, history and sci fi. A list that I've enjoyed in the past are: Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter, Ready Player one, world War Z, Old Man's War, just to name a few. I read Armada but didn't enjoy it.

Forgot to mention I also liked The Martian and Bad Blood which was the story about Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes.
Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant. It’s about killer mermaids.
Since you mentioned a non-fiction: Endurance by Alfred Lansing. The story of Ernest Shackleton’s doomed Antarctic voyage. It’s a wild story.
Also A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson.
