Suggest me a book that makes me suffer and depressed.
I’m specifically looking for something that is extremely depressing and makes me rethink life and how cruel life can be. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
The gargoyle by Andrew Davidson about a burn victim learning to like himself

* John Steinbeck, Of mice and men
* Elif Shafak, 10min and 38s in this strange world (it doesn’t really have a bad ending nor a good one but it definitely shows how hard life can be)
Yasmina Khadra’s every books are depressing too.

Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi! About giving people a chance to go back in time for moments they might have wanted to live differently or to receive closure (not necessarily depressing, but reflective on how we live our lives)!
