By that I mean a book which does the following: it has the characters think about and act out moments of intimacy in rare ways that go way beyond the norm for most relationships (regardless of how that norm may be seen).
I'm not looking for something exclusively sexual. I'm very interested in not just the actions or thoughts but the development to get to them. I want an exploration of developping deep trust in larger social contexts, new ways to make contact with a body, new ways to communicate intimacy, and the opposite of psychological torture (comfort, healing).
Sidenote: I'm a big fan of scifi and fantasy, so anything throwing in supernatural entities and robots into the mix is a plus for me.
