I read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and it was so fucking amazing. I have The Boy With The Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne and I have The Night Trilogy ordered.
I just want a fictional book set in the WW II world. They’re just really interesting to read and I learn a lot about how people felt at that time and stuff. Preferably with a sad or dramatic ending.

John Boyne is kind of a hack and BWTSP is literally cited by the Auschwitz museum as what not to do with a WW2 novel lol.
*Slaughterhouse 5* is one of the best WW2 novels I’ve ever read, by contrast.
