I'm about done reading andromeda strain & need a new book soon. I also happen to be about done with replaying bioshock (the first one).
I really like the dingy underground scientist audio logs & mutations gone wrong, the 60's aesthetic. Preferably with a horror vibe & weirdness, thank you!!

Jurassic park gave me a similar feel although the atmosphere is dinosaurs vs underwater. I think it’s written from the 80s decade perspective.
I’m reading Annihilation (Southern Reach Trilogy) by Jeff VanderMeer. I’m still reading it but I’m getting similar vibes of “It’s creepy and weird and I need to look behind my shoulders constantly.” This is more modern day perspective but all the MC are scientists (psychologist, biologist, surveyor, forgot the last one)
