Hello friends!
I’m looking for help with my niece and nephew. They are 14 and 12 respectfully, and full blown tik tok and phone addicted kids. They can both be very smart children when they want to apply themselves, but this last year especially I’ve noticed a decline in their literacy and grammar. Their mom is very busy and dealing with alot of personal issues and since they are getting decent grades and healthy it doesn’t super concern her. I just want to try and instill an interest in reading that they used to have before they got unmitigated phone usage.
My nephew is big into anime, especially action type anime like Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Kaiju No. 8. My niece love romance movies and cheesy romcom style shows, and she’s more of an open book as she loves anything from studio ghibli to Outer Banks, etc.
I’m gonna start taking them to the library and doing a book every week or so and see how they like them. Any recs you guys can offer are much appreciated!!
