I was originally trying to find this book I read a few years back but I can’t remember enough about it for anyone to help (it took place on a cold island in The Atlantic, during halloween, but they called the holiday by the ancient term on this island which I cannot for the life of me remember.. not Samhain though)
So does anybody have a good recommendation for books to read that have elements of folklore, myth, legend around Halloween, All Hallows Eve, Samhain, etc? Something kind of spooky maybe, could include witchcraft or magick, but ideally not a children or YA book..

“American Folklore and Legends” has some good ones, like the origin of the Jack o lantern, if I’m remembering correctly
There’s “The Halloween Tree” by Ray Bradbury. Accessible to younger readers, but still seems like it fits what you’re asking for in the second paragraph.
