Hello!
So, a trope that works quite well on me is when a group of close friends is thrown a problem, and usually has to fend for themselves (sometimes with very big stakes; like saving the world, or more!) (So like, non-toxic friendships, if I need to specify)
Common examples are the Harry Potters (even though the friends don't yet know each other at the start), Stranger Things,… Except I'm getting kinda tired of reading about children/young adult characters. I want to read about people in their 30s, or more. Hence, any recommendations?
I'm open to basically any genre (I usually like fantasy, historical fiction, sci-fi, magical realism, non-magical realism, etc…) this really doesn't matter much, as long as there are well written friendships that I can root for, and that make me feel good (or sad, but in a good day, you know what I mean).
One thing that hit the spot recently was the '3-body problem' Netflix show. I haven't read the books yet, but this is planned; and it sort of exactly contains the friendship group dynamics I'm looking for.
Bonus points if the book contains romance that's not too cheesy/too expectable, cause I'm a sucker for a good romance.
