Basically the title… but for context, just finished Hyperion and absolutely hated it. I am not looking to start a holy war here. My question is essentially that some authors need an entire book to setup their characters and world etc so they can actually start their story in book 2 – I hate that but frankly it happens a ton. How do you decide whether to continue the series when authors do this?
