I know this is rather a nickpicky thing to some people, but I would prefer reading books in Japanese or (Taiwanese) Mandarin in public in the Western world or in Europe, again people for the most part will remain indifferent about it, however I would rather read without being disturbed by some who are curious on what I am reading who may start up a conversation.

To be clear, I am not talking about languages other than English such as like Italian, Spanish, French, German & etc. as they can still be mutually intelligible to speakers of any European language that uses the Latin alphabet but may not understand it right away however they can still read the letters written on the cover and attempt to guess the title due to loanwords if present.

The same applies to Cyrillic based languages like Russian, Ukrainian & Bulgarian for example, as speakers or learners of these languages can still decipher it due to that being an alphabet. Also, not talking about Arabic or Hebrew despite them being Semitic, but still write books with horizontal text, the only similar thing with Japanese books are that they're both published from right to left.

I guess a more "private" reading session as in posing a language barrier to prying eyes (even though I ignore it for the most part) since they cannot understand the title of the book in question (unless they may get hints of illustrations, although it may not be obvious at first glance.) so how can you really start a conversation with someone reading a book in a language you cannot read and understand?

I mean, it's rude to interrupt somebody whilst they're preoccupied with something in general, right? So while on the commute or passing the time, I would rather read without being disturbed, an alternative may be on adding custom book covers. Well, reading a book in a foreign language will only be feasable if you're a native speaker or an advanced learner of that language.

I know there's a low chance for this to happen, have you ever been strucken a conversation from a stranger due to the book you're reading, either due to the title of the genre of a book you're reading that may have grabbed their attention or reminded them of their TBR? Even so, what was that kind of interaction like?
