Hello, I'm a sucker for mystery books that involves family, anything goes! Inheritance disputes, death of a relative, sibling rivalry, dysfunctional parent and child relationship, finding a missing relative, etc. Anything as long as it involves family
Some books I enjoyed that fit the criteria:
- The Galton Case by Ross MacDonald (Mom wants to find her son)
- The Way Some People Die by Ross MacDonald (Mom wants to find her daughter)
- The Inugami Curse by Seishi Yokomizo (Killing over inheritance)
- The Devil's Flute Murders by Seishi Yokomizo (The killer is a product of incest between brother and sister)
- Crooked House by Agatha Christie (Death of a patriarch/grandpa and finding his killer)
- Ordeal by Innocence by Agatha Christie (Death of a stepmom and finding her actual killer)
- Appointment with Death (Death of a tyrannical mother)

The Dutch House by Ann Patchett
The Witch Elm by Tana French
I really enjoyed Everyone in My Family has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson. It’s a murder mystery involving a very dysfunctional family.
Brat Farrar by Josephine Tey
