Suggest me a non-romance novel where you can practically feel the humidity

I am in the mood for either for a U.S. southern coming-of-age story or a book featuring a vacation home (either beachy or otherwise). I'm not against there being romance, just not looking for Elin Hilderbrand/Dorothea Benton Frank style books at the moment. Some similar reads that I have enjoyed:
