I’m gonna try to make this short so please bear with me!
I’m 28 and just recently decided to get back into reading. As a child I LOVED to read. I read all of the classics such as A Little Princess, all of the Little House on the Prairie books, Mrs. Piggle Wiggle, Lemony Snicket, Harry Potter, Beverly Cleary, and many, many more.
I’ve started back reading with the Bridgerton books because I love the show and have just fell down a rabbit hole of new books to try thanks to TikTok. However, I cannot get on board with most of the TikTok suggestions. I do not like the “modern” way of writing a lot of these books have? One suggestion is Just for the Summer and I cant get past the whole Reddit thread thing in the book description. Lol. Based on the reviews I do not think I’ll like anything by Colleen Hoover. I’m trying to be more open minded but I feel like I really would just like to read books that are more “classic” and imaginative like the ones I read in my childhood.
Books I’ve already read:
To Kill a Mockingbird, The Help
Books I plan to read:
Pride and Prejudice, Tattooist of Auschwitz
Book I tried to read and couldn’t really get into but open to trying again:
Little Women
Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for adult books that fit into this category? Thank you in advance!
