Mainly nonfiction, but fiction could work too. What a book that gave you insight on a topic you didn't previously care about? For example if I said I hated beer, but for some reason read "the world as told through 7 kinds of beer" (a fake book I made up) I would find myself having a deeper appreciation for it, even if I didn't (or did) find myself liking it after reading

Western Lane by Chetna Maroo. It’s about the game of squash, something I have less than zero interest in, but I finished the book sobbing.
