I am looking for new books of cultural criticism.
Some examples of books that do that with more or less success and varying levels of depth and skill:
Richard Senett-The Performer (100%)
Jia Tolentino – Trick mirror (85%)
Pandora Sykes – How do we know if we are doing it right (65%)
Amanda Montell – Magical Overthinking (55%)
I am not looking for something performatively academic (e.g. Judith Butler), where simple thoughts are packaged in unnecessarily convoluted language. It's more of a clear prose style, where the author elegantly guides through their thinking and surfaces some semi-surprising conclusions.
Thank you!
