Y'know the type where there is a cat and mouse game, a battle of wits of the medieval version of a detective trying to hunt down a medieval serial killer. I would prefer it be "normal" in the sense that it is no magic or aliens etc. but just normal medieval stuff using medieval tools to try and catch the killer.

The “Brother Cadfiel” books by Ellis Peters (who also wrote historical fiction as “Edith Pargeter”)
This is going to be a cliche when it comes to suggesting books but…
Name of the Rose, by Umberto Eco, which is a classic. Otherwise, I’ve really enjoyed A Plague on Both Your Houses by Susannah Gregory as well.
The Brother Athelstan series by Paul Doherty.
The Mistress of the Art of Death series by Ariana Franklin is really good. Set during the reign of Henry II.
Also good Cadfael by Ellis Peters.
The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco is absolutely brilliant.
