I’m looking for a book suggestion that had you stopping in the middle of reading and having you looking over your shoulder. Just something really scary.
Nothing scares readers like the Bible scares a sinner.
Apart from a religious answer, I’d guess Stephen King ?

Adam Nevill – Last Days had some scenes that were so unsettling and really had me on edge, I had the wildest dreams while reading that book lol. I wasn’t exactly expecting the ending or direction he went with it, but the build up was so good

I read this book in the deep web where these guys are traveling to mars and, like, they are traveling by only making one push to mars direction with their rocket. And then everything goes wrong and they’ll have to use one of the two extra pulses. Just that part horryfing. But then, they arrive mars, and they find a human skeleton in a cave andfour words… they look like us.
(The words are from a reddit post, so i guess some guy saw it and made a book with that idea)

“You” really unsettled me and made me a bit paranoid for a while.
The plot gets a little silly and hard to believe in some ways, but the underlying mindset is horrifying.
