I love reading. I get lost in books so easily. I also would like to note that English and writing were my worst subjects in school so when authors make grammatical errors chances are I have no idea.
I also rate books based on genera. A 5 star non fiction for me is going to look different than a 5 star thriller.
I also read a good amount, I'm at 86 books this year so far. I just tend to get self conscious when I know people who have given 5 books 5 stars through their whole life and I have around 30 ish I've given 5 stars to this year.
I've never given a book one star, if I'm not into the book I DNF the book and don't rate. Two stars is I pushed through but kinda wish I hadn't 🤣
Just wondering if anyone else gets self conscious about their ratings if they are someone who is an 'easy' rater.

We’re often so critical of things for no reason.
Isn’t it a good thing that you enjoyed something more than others??
I think I used to, but I’ve been on the opposite side of so many fandoms I’ve just come to accept that I have unconventional taste.
No because It’s all subjective. I know what Iv like and I have clear criteria for all my star ratings. The content of summertime else’s review may get me to reassess my score, particularly if it touches on something I missed or had never considered (e.g., themes, etc.)..
